About

What is this blog?

In a world ruled by headlines and breaking news, it can be difficult to understand what the facts are. Especially when it comes to issues of environmental science, we are dealing with an increasingly polarised playing field. This blog is my attempt to go beyond news articles and scientific papers and talk about what really matters in a truly accessible way.

Urbanism + Environmentalism = Urbænviron-mentalism

At the same time, I get to combine my interest in sustainability and urbanism. Of course, urbanism is a much broader field than just sustainability, but I would argue that sustainability should be a at least a consideration no matter the discussed topic.

Who is this blog for?

For you! No, really. This blog is written with a general public interested in the enviroment in mind. While many academic concepts will come up throughout the blog, I aim to explain and talk about them in a way that anyone can understand – whether you work in the field or not. Please don’t hesitate to ask clarifying questions (or really all kinds of questions) in the comments, or reach out via email!

What who am I?

Hi, my name is Tim and I am a master’s student following the programme ‘Governance of Sustainability’. With a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies, science communication has always been an aspect of my studies – something I would like to explore more through this blog.. and through other means, so stay tuned!

Caring about the environment arguably isn’t easy sometimes, especially in an increasingly polarised world. Perhaps the least we can do is try to wrap our head around what is going on out there.

Who are you?

Genuinely, I am curious who is reading this. Consider getting in touch!
